NEC Requires an ARC FLASH Study
One of the more recent areas added to the NEC is ARC FLASH. The NEC added labeling requirements in the 2000 release, and has continuously updated these ever since. As of today, less than 30% of all businesses meet the 2000 requirements. At some point in the future, states will start to enforce those requirements. Also, many insurance companies are starting to require compliance because of the huge liability.
The following is a list of all items that require markings. A * indicates this is a new or updated item:
- Industrial control panels *
- Motor controllers
- Motor control centers
